375 Double Square Bridge Mauser
The Satterlee Arms' 375 Double Square Bridge Mauser begins as a block of pre-hardened 4140 chromoly steel. Aside from the excellent Blacburn trigger, each part of the action is made entirely in our shop, one-at-a-time, and with every surface perfectly straight and true.
In appearance, we've changed the design by incorporating some of the best features of the Mauser variations.
First, you'll notice that the front ring is a little smaller than a large-ring '98. It measures 1.330" compared to the large-ring 1.410."
Also the bottom of the action is fashioned more in the style of the intermediate length Mexican Mauser, increasing surface area and enabling a more solid bedding platform. The sides of the action itself are straight (ala the Small Ring Mauser) and lend themselves to a more rigid action and trimmer looking rifle.
Even with these improvements, it's still a Mauser: right down to its "C"-ring breech and integral third locking lug.
As a plus for the hunter, this action also features single-round loading capabilities, which allow a single cartridge to be placed directly in the chamber and the bolt closed with ease.
It will feed anyway, anywhere, anytime. Each action and barreled action is built by one person - me - Stuart Satterlee.
Integral double square bridges can be machined for a variety of scope bases or left as flat as the owner chooses.
Finally, each action and barreled action is entirely hand-polished to 320grit for an excellent final finish.
